Statement 1 is correct : The Office of the Prosecutor (OTP) is an independent organ of the Court. It is responsible for examining situations under the jurisdiction of the Court where genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and aggression appear to have been committed, and carrying out investigations and prosecutions against the individuals who are allegedly most responsible for those crimes.

Statement 2 is not correct : The Prosecutor and Deputy Prosecutors are elected by the Assembly of States Parties for a single, non-renewable term of 9 years. This means once their term ends, they cannot be re-elected or serve another term in the same role.

Statement 3 is correct : ICC judges are elected for a non-renewable 9-year term based on their qualifications and integrity, and they elect the Court&rsquo;s President and Vice-Presidents from among themselves.
