Explanation Context: Recently, it was in the news as Afghanistan and Turkmenistan officials jointly inaugurated the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project on the Turkmenistan side.
The TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) pipeline is a 1,800 km long gas pipeline designed to transport natural gas from Turkmenistan’s Galkynysh gas field to India via Afghanistan and Pakistan.
