Explanation
The Nasik Inscription was issued by Gautami Balashri, the mother of Gautamiputra Satakarni, one of the greatest rulers of the Satavahana dynasty. It describes his military victories, including his defeat of the Shakas (Western Kshatrapas), Pahlavas, and Yavanas. He is credited with reviving the power of the Satavahanas and restoring their influence over the Deccan region.He is also praised as the destroyer of the Kshaharatas (Nahapana’s dynasty) and a ruler who upheld Vedic traditions.
