Statement 1 is not correct: Seamounts are not flat-topped, they have pointed summits. Flat-topped underwater features are called guyots or tablemounts, which are former seamounts whose tops have been eroded.

Statement 2 is correct: They can rise steeply from the ocean floor but do not reach the ocean surface.

Statement 3 is correct: Most seamounts are indeed volcanic in origin and are formed by volcanic activity and are remnants of extinct volcanoes.
