Recently, Indian Scientists Engineer Supercharged Green Energy Material.
Researchers from the Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences (CeNS), Bengaluru, in collaboration with Aligarh Muslim University, developed a lanthanum-doped silver niobate material that dramatically enhances the performance of supercapacitors, devices crucial for next-generation energy storage.
About Silver niobate:
Silver niobate (AgNbO₃) is a lead-free, environmentally friendly perovskite material with excellent electrical properties. Doping it with lanthanum improved its conductivity and increased the surface area, allowing for greater energy storage and faster charge/discharge cycles.
It retained 118% of its original energy capacity even after prolonged use and achieved 100% coulombic efficiency, indicating almost no energy loss during charging and discharging. This marks a significant advancement over traditional energy storage materials.
