Their role includes guarding vital installations, vulnerable points, and sensitive areas along the international border.

Statement 2 is correct: Currently, seven states Meghalaya, Tripura, Assam, West Bengal, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat are authorized to maintain Border Wing Home Guards (BWHGs), but only Rajasthan has an active unit, owing to its strategic position along the India&ndash;Pakistan border and the need to reinforce border security.

Statement 3 is not correct: The training and financial support for Home Guards is jointly funded by the Central and State/UT Governments, with the Government of India covering 25% of the cost and the remaining 75% borne by the respective state governments.
