Nagarjuna: A foundational figure in Mahayana Buddhism, Nagarjuna's teachings at Nalanda University centered on the philosophy of emptiness and the Middle Way. His works, including the Mulamadhyamakakarika, explored the nature of reality and the limitations of conceptual thought.
Dinnaga: Recognized as the founder of Buddhist logic, Dinnaga's contributions to the field of epistemology were significant. He is believed to have taught at institutions like Nalanda, influencing subsequent scholars in Buddhist philosophy.
Dharmapala: A prominent Buddhist scholar and one of the main teachers of the Yogacara school in India. He was a contemporary of Bhavaviveka with whom he debated.
Patanjali: An ancient scholar known for his work on Sanskrit grammar (Mahabhashya) and the Yoga Sutras, Patanjali lived much earlier than the establishment of Nalanda University and is not associated with it.
