The Wrestling Federation of India has recently made the decision to revoke the suspensions of Olympic medallist Aman Sehrawat and junior wrestler Neha Sangwan. This move allows both athletes to fully participate in domestic and international wrestling events once again.
Aman Sehrawat, a Paris Olympics bronze medallist and former Asian champion, was suspended for one year starting from 23 September 2025 due to a weight-related incident at the World Championships in Zagreb. Neha Sangwan, a U20 World Championships bronze medallist, received a two-year ban for a similar reason at the Junior Worlds in Samokov.
After reviewing the cases of Aman and Neha, the WFI disciplinary committee decided to take a lenient approach considering their previous achievements and international success. The committee recommended lifting their suspensions and giving them another chance to compete.
With the bans lifted, both Aman and Neha can now participate in the upcoming Pro Wrestling League and other major events. However, the federation has warned that any future violations related to weight management or discipline will result in stricter consequences.
