This year, the Raisina Dialogue will feature Greece’s Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis as the chief guest. The event, organized by the Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi, promises engaging discussions and notable attendees.
The Raisina Dialogue is set to take place from February 21 to 23, coinciding with the G-20 Foreign Ministers’ meeting hosted by Brazil on February 21 and 22.
In addition to Prime Minister Mitsotakis, several Foreign Ministers and Deputy Foreign Ministers from European countries, including Latvia, Romania, Estonia, Serbia, and the Netherlands, are expected to attend. Dignitaries from neighboring countries such as Nepal and Vietnam will also be present.
Discussions at the Raisina Dialogue will focus on crucial themes such as trade, strategic partnerships, and global and regional issues. A significant topic will be the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor.
There will be representation from the United States, with Senior State Department official and former Ambassador to India Richard Verma, along with U.S. Admiral John Aquilino, Commander of the Indo-Pacific Command, expected to address the conference.
As part of a broader state visit, PM Mitsotakis will also visit Mumbai. He is likely to be accompanied by a large business delegation, aiming to bolster economic ties and encourage Greek investments in India.
The relationship between India and Greece has recently been elevated to a "Strategic Partnership." This development occurred during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Greece in August 2023, emphasizing shared cultural values, economic growth, and security collaboration.
While no government-to-government agreements are expected to be finalized during this visit, several Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) are likely to be signed between Indian and Greek businesses in sectors such as banking and finance, insurance, IT, and think tanks.
This year marks the ninth edition of the Raisina Dialogue, which is organized by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Observer Research Foundation (ORF). Previous editions have featured keynote addresses from leaders across the globe, including those from Denmark, Rwanda, Israel, and Italy.
As the event approaches, the international community is keenly anticipating the insights and collaborations that will emerge from this prestigious gathering.
