The Government of Uttar Pradesh has launched the Women’s Empowerment and Equality (WEE) Index, a pioneering framework to assess and strengthen women’s self-reliance. Developed with the Udaiti Foundation, the index evaluates the impact of eight flagship women-centric schemes across 75 districts, using 49 indicators and inputs from 15 departments. Districts are categorized as Champions, Leaders, Contenders, and Aspirational based on their performance.

The WEE Index of Uttar Pradesh provides a scientific method to measure and enhance women’s empowerment across 75 districts.
