Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam, abbreviated as SNDP, is a significant social reform organization that originated in 1903 in Kerala, India. Its primary mission is to foster the social, educational, and spiritual upliftment of the Ezhava community and other marginalized groups within society.
SNDP was established under the esteemed spiritual guidance of Sri Narayana Guru in 1903. The organization was officially formed by his dedicated disciples, with a pivotal role played by Dr. Palpu in its early leadership and development.
The central tenet of Sri Narayana Guru's philosophy is encapsulated in the phrase “One Caste, One Religion, One God for All Mankind” (Oru Jathi, Oru Matham, Oru Daivam Manushyanu). He championed the ideals of universal brotherhood, social equality, and spiritual unity, transcending the barriers imposed by caste distinctions.
The movement initiated by SNDP has played an instrumental role in transforming Kerala's social landscape. It has significantly contributed to the reduction of caste discrimination, the enhancement of literacy rates, and the promotion of social mobility. Furthermore, it has served as a model for various other social reform movements across India.
Today, SNDP remains an active and influential social organization in Kerala. It continues to operate educational institutions, hospitals, and various community development programs while steadfastly upholding its commitment to social justice and equality.
Education has always been at the heart of SNDP's strategy for social upliftment. The organization has established numerous schools, promoted literacy, and firmly believes that education is the cornerstone for dismantling the cycles of social discrimination and poverty.
