'Flying rivers,' also known as atmospheric rivers, are vast, invisible streams of water vapor that emerge from warm ocean surfaces through the process of evaporation. This gap in focused research hinders effective preparation and response strategies, underscoring the importance for meteorologists, hydrologists, and climate scientists to collaborate closely. Understanding and addressing the challenges posed by 'flying rivers' is becoming increasingly vital as their influence expands, emphasizing the necessity for enhanced research and adaptive strategies to protect vulnerable regions from their potentially catastrophic effects.
