Pune-based Greenex Environmental has entered a strategic collaboration with Norway’s EPD Global to expand Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) services for Indian manufacturers. The partnership aims to strengthen sustainability reporting, improve market readiness, and enhance global competitiveness, especially for export-oriented industries and MSMEs.
Under the memorandum of understanding, Greenex Environmental will assess the environmental impact of products manufactured in India, while EPD Global will publish the final Environmental Product Declarations. This arrangement combines Norwegian certification expertise with strong Indian technical capabilities, ensuring internationally compliant, transparent product-impact reporting for manufacturers.
The partnership is expected to benefit Indian MSMEs and larger sectors such as engineering, chemicals, metals, and food processing. With global buyers increasingly preferring products backed by environmental declarations, EPDs will help Indian firms meet international procurement norms, boost credibility, and gain access to higher-value markets. The collaboration is projected to cut EPD certification costs by nearly 70%, making these services far more accessible.
This initiative supports India’s broader transition towards low-carbon, sustainable manufacturing. As countries tighten environmental norms, EPDs are becoming integral to demonstrating responsible production and meeting emerging global standards. The partnership is also expected to create skilled employment in environmental assessment and accelerate the shift towards cleaner industrial practices.
Greenex Environmental, currently operating in Pune, Mumbai, Gujarat, and Dubai, plans to expand into major industrial hubs across India. With environmental disclosures becoming a global norm, the collaboration is poised to strengthen industry competitiveness and help Indian manufacturers integrate seamlessly into sustainable global value chains.
