Antonio Tajani, Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, visited India from December 10 to 12, 2025. On December 11, 2025, Tajani co-chaired the Italy-India Business Forum 2025 alongside Union Minister Piyush Goyal in Mumbai, Maharashtra. This forum gathered senior government officials, industry leaders, and over 150 business delegations from India and Italy. The primary focus was on enhancing trade and strengthening supply chains.
The forum featured sectoral roundtables and pitching sessions that facilitated direct interactions between industries. This platform helped identify opportunities for Joint Ventures (JVs), Research and Development (R&D) partnerships, and value-chain integration. Leaders also explored cooperation in digital innovation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), fintech, and other advanced technologies.
On December 12, 2025, a significant milestone was achieved as Union Minister Piyush Goyal and Tajani signed the Agreed Minutes of the 22nd session of the India-Italy Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation (JCEC). This protocol outlines a structured roadmap for economic collaboration, including trade and investment targets, sector-specific working groups, and regular dialogues to monitor progress.
