The Government of India has expanded the PM Gati Shakti platform to include private entities through PM GatiShakti Public, granting access to over 230 non-sensitive datasets for infrastructure and logistics planning. This initiative integrates geospatial data from multiple ministries, enabling businesses to conduct site analysis, compliance checks, and project planning more efficiently. Additionally, the newly launched PM GatiShakti–Offshore supports India’s Blue Economy by facilitating data-driven marine and coastal infrastructure development.
PM Gati Shakti is India’s National Master Plan (NMP) designed for integrated infrastructure development and improved coordination among government departments. It leverages a digital geospatial platform to streamline connectivity, minimize project delays, and promote multimodal transport integration across the country.
The PM GatiShakti Public platform offers regulated access to selected non-sensitive datasets related to physical and social infrastructure. Private users and businesses can utilize these datasets for project planning, logistics optimization, site suitability analysis, and regulatory compliance.
Private sector users can access around 230 datasets covering key sectors such as roads, railways, ports, airports, energy, and social infrastructure.
By accessing this platform, private companies can perform connectivity mapping, alignment planning, and visualize multi-layered geospatial data. This enhances project design, improves coordination with government agencies, and boosts cost efficiency in infrastructure development.
PM GatiShakti–Offshore is a specialized digital platform developed for planning and managing offshore infrastructure projects such as wind farms, marine resource exploration, and coastal facilities. It consolidates datasets from various ministries to support sustainable coastal development and strengthen India’s Blue Economy.
Major contributors include the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Ministry of Mines, Ministry of Power, and Ministry of Telecommunications.
By integrating geospatial data for offshore and coastal projects, PM GatiShakti–Offshore enables better planning and sustainable utilization of ocean resources. It promotes green energy development, marine infrastructure, and environment-friendly economic growth along India’s coastline.
Allowing private participation under the PM Gati Shakti framework ensures faster project execution, reduces duplication of efforts, and creates a unified vision for national infrastructure planning. This collaboration between government and industry is expected to accelerate India’s logistics efficiency and support its goal of holistic economic growth.
