The Khaan Quest Exercise is a multinational peacekeeping training event designed to prepare military forces for peacekeeping missions in a collaborative international environment.
The 21st edition of Khaan Quest features approximately 430 participants from 23 different countries. Notable participants include Australia, Canada, China, Japan, Türkiye, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
The Indian contingent, comprising 40 personnel from a battalion of the Madras Regiment, actively engages in various peacekeeping training exercises alongside their international counterparts.
Ambassador Atul Malhari Gotsurve represented India at the inaugural ceremony held on July 27, 2024, where he welcomed the Indian troops from the Madras Regiment.
The Khaan Quest Exercise is scheduled to take place from July 27 to August 9, 2024.
The main objective of Khaan Quest is to prepare armed forces for peacekeeping missions in a multinational setting, thereby enhancing interoperability and mutual understanding among the participating nations.
Indeed, the Indian contingent includes one woman officer and two women soldiers, reflecting the inclusivity of the exercise.
