Union Minister Piyush Goyal Unveils the Trade Intelligence & Analytics Portal

On November 18, 2025, Union Minister Piyush Goyal from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoC&I) officially launched the Trade Intelligence & Analytics (TIA) Portal in New Delhi. This significant initiative is set to transform how trade data is accessed and utilized, particularly benefiting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), startups, and small exporters.

Key Highlights of the TIA Portal

The TIA Portal is a comprehensive platform developed by the Department of Commerce under the MoC&I. It offers over 28 dashboards and more than 270 analytical tools. These include advanced analytics such as the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Trade Complementarity Index, and Trade Intensity Index.

Designed as a central hub, the portal integrates multiple trade databases like the United Nations (UN) Comtrade and bilateral datasets into a single, streamlined system. The technology behind the portal is built on open-source platforms, ensuring that it remains accessible and adaptive.

Global Reach and Technological Integration

The TIA Portal covers trade insights across more than 220 countries. It not only provides automated reports but also tracks trends relevant to Production Linked Incentive (PLI) manufacturing sectors and critical minerals. This comprehensive coverage ensures that users can access a wealth of information to make informed decisions.

Empowering Small Businesses

One of the key aims of the TIA Portal is to democratize access to detailed trade data, which was previously the domain of large corporations. Now, small businesses, even those in remote areas, can leverage this information to enhance their trade capabilities. This move is expected to significantly level the playing field for small entities in the global market.

In summary, the launch of the Trade Intelligence & Analytics Portal represents a major step forward in making trade data transparent and accessible. By empowering MSMEs and small exporters with critical insights, the portal supports the growth and competitiveness of these enterprises on a global scale.
