As the 56th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) approaches, anticipation builds for this grand cinematic event scheduled from November 20 to 28, 2025, in Goa. Since its inception in 1952, IFFI has remained a significant cultural event, being South Asia’s only FIAPF-accredited competitive film festival. This year, the festival will present 240 films from 81 countries, offering a rich tapestry of cultures, stories, and cinematic innovations.
IFFI 2025 emphasizes international collaboration by featuring Japan as the Country of Focus, presenting six contemporary Japanese films. Spain and Australia will also be highlighted as the Partner and Spotlight Countries, respectively. These partnerships promise curated film packages, cultural programs, and institutional collaborations, positioning IFFI as a global hub for cinema diplomacy.

Over the years, IFFI has evolved into a vibrant platform for global cinema, currently held annually in Goa, and stands as the oldest and most prestigious film festival in Asia.
Today, IFFI remains South Asia's only FIAPF-accredited competitive film festival, celebrating both world cinema and Indian talent.
This year's festival will showcase:

In celebration of his 50-year cinematic journey, actor Rajinikanth will be honored at the Closing Ceremony. The Indian Panorama 2025 will highlight 25 feature and 20 non-feature films, alongside 5 debut features, reinforcing IFFI's commitment to inclusivity and emerging talent.
The Creative Minds of Tomorrow (CMOT) platform will engage 124 young professionals in workshops and competitions across 13 film-related crafts. The festival will also host 21 masterclasses featuring industry legends like Aamir Khan and Anupam Kher, covering topics from acting to VFX and the future of AI in filmmaking.
Now rebranded as WAVES Film Bazaar, this marketplace will feature a dynamic Co-Production Market and a Screenwriters’ Lab. Adding a new dimension, IFFI 2025 introduces IFFIESTA, a four-day celebration of music, dance, and live performances, enriching the festival's cultural experience.
