Agricultural scientists at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) have recently made significant strides in enhancing the Adam Chini Rice variety. By employing mutagenesis, they have improved both the resilience and productivity of this renowned rice variety.
Adam Chini Rice is a distinctive aromatic black rice known for its delightful fragrance and exceptional cooking qualities. Predominantly cultivated in the Eastern Uttar Pradesh region, including Chandauli, Varanasi, and the Vindhya region, this rice received its Geographical Indication (GI) in 2023.
