Empowering Tamil Nadu Students: Samsung's DigiArivu Initiative

On November 19, 2025, Samsung, in collaboration with the United Nations Global Compact Network India (UN GCNI), unveiled an innovative educational program titled DigiArivu – Empowering Students Through Tech. This initiative is dedicated to enhancing digital and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education in Tamil Nadu. The program was officially launched by Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, the Minister for School Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, at The Anna Centenary Library in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

About the DigiArivu Initiative

The initiative covers 10 schools located in the Kancheepuram and Ranipet districts, benefiting over 3,000 students. It has been developed using insights from UN GCNI research, Samsung employees, and input from local community members. The infrastructure leverages Building as Learning Aid (BaLA) designs to create interactive learning environments.

Integration of Equipment and Training

DigiArivu provides digital learning equipment for seamless classroom integration. The program incorporates activity-based STEM modules and structured teacher training on digital tools and pedagogy. This approach aims to foster hands-on learning, strengthen conceptual understanding, and facilitate the adoption of interactive, technology-supported teaching practices.

Student Development Initiatives

The initiative supports holistic student development by establishing libraries, distributing sports kits, offering career guidance for Class 12 students, arranging expert speaker sessions, organizing health awareness camps, and celebrating significant days with community participation.
