In December 2025, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) presented seven indigenous technologies to the Indian Armed Forces, including the Indian Air Force (IAF), Indian Army (IA), and Indian Navy (IN). This significant handover occurred during an Empowered Committee meeting at DRDO Bhawan in New Delhi.
The technologies handed over are:
Each of these technologies has been engineered and rigorously tested in collaboration with Indian industry and DRDO experts, ensuring they meet the operational needs of the Indian Armed Forces.
This power supply is designed for airborne electronic warfare systems, enhancing aircraft capabilities through reliable jamming and self-protection against threats.
The TEG facilitates safe boarding and deboarding under varying tidal conditions, promoting safety and operational efficiency at naval installations.
This system ensures secure communication across very-low and high-frequency bands, critical for command-and-control in challenging environments.
VLF Loop Aerials enable communication and signal reception for underwater platforms, aiding stealth operations and maritime surveillance.
The IWPS enhances the speed and maneuverability of naval interceptor crafts, improving response times for coastal security operations.
This innovative process supports the sustainable recovery of lithium from used batteries, promoting resource efficiency and circular economy objectives.
The LLSBS powers underwater sensors for long-duration operations, crucial for naval and maritime security missions while reducing maintenance needs.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary of Defence R&D and Chairman of DRDO, with attendance from senior officials from the Indian Armed Forces, Department of Defence Production (DDP), and Ministry of Defence (MoD).
Alongside the technology handover, 12 new projects covering strategic, aerospace, naval, and electronic warfare technologies were also approved, further enhancing India's defense capabilities.
The initiatives under the Technology Development Fund (TDF) scheme are pivotal for advancing India's self-reliance in defense technology.
