The inaugural Ramoji Excellence Awards 2025 concluded with a vibrant celebration at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. This event, dedicated to the memory of Sri Ramoji Rao, a media icon and nation-builder, honored seven individuals whose transformative work spans journalism, social service, rural development, and science. The event was graced by India’s Vice President Sri C. P. Radhakrishnan, and the Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, reflecting the values of service, innovation, and integrity that Sri Ramoji Rao upheld.

A Legacy of Vision and Impact

The Hon'ble Vice President described Sri Ramoji Rao as a visionary who transformed dreams into enduring institutions. His contributions to media, education, and culture have been cornerstones of modern Indian thought. Dignitaries such as Sri A. Revanth Reddy, Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu, Justice N. V. Ramana, and Sri M. Venkaiah Naidu praised his legacy of making information accessible. Ramoji Film City remains a testament to creative and entrepreneurial excellence.

Introducing the Ramoji Dictionary

A highlight of the evening was the launch of the Ramoji Dictionary, a linguistic initiative nurtured by Sri Ramoji Rao. The English-to-Telugu edition was released by Sri M. Venkaiah Naidu, and the Telugu-to-Telugu edition by Justice N. V. Ramana. This pioneering dictionary aims to strengthen regional language learning and promote Telugu heritage, underscoring Ramoji Rao’s dedication to language and culture.

Celebrating the Honourees

The Ramoji Excellence Awards 2025 recognized the following individuals for their exceptional contributions:

• Excellence in Journalism: Shri Jaideep Hardikar, known for highlighting India’s agrarian crises and rural life.
• Youth Icon Award: Shri Srikanth Bolla, founder of Bollant Industries, empowering disabled individuals through sustainable manufacturing.
• Excellence in Art & Culture: Prof. Sathupati Prasanna Sree, for her work in tribal linguistics, developing scripts for 19 tribal languages.
• Excellence in Rural Development: Smt. Amla Ashok Ruia, the “Water Mother,” for her rainwater harvesting innovations.
• Excellence in Service to Mankind: Shri Akash Tandon, transforming street corners into classrooms through Pehchaan – The Street School.
• Women Achiever Award: Smt. Pallabi Ghosh, a human rights advocate rescuing over 10,000 victims of human trafficking.
• Excellence in Science & Technology: Prof. Madhavi Latha Gali, contributing to iconic projects like the Chenab Railway Bridge and mentoring students at IISc Bengaluru.

A Night of National Pride

The evening featured cultural performances and tributes to Sri Ramoji Rao, creating an atmosphere charged with inspiration. Sri Ch. Kiron, Managing Director of Ramoji Group, delivered a moving tribute to his father, emphasizing that “enterprise without ethics is empty and success without service is shallow.” The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem and a vote of thanks, symbolizing a seamless blend of celebration and service.
